Fairfax, Va. - The National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF) is endorsing Sam Brownback for Kansas Governor.
"The National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund supports Sam Brownback because he is a champion and staunch defender of the Second Amendment freedoms of law-abiding Kansas gun owners," said Chris W. Cox, chairman of NRA-PVF. "As a U.S. senator, Sam has proven time and again to be a trustworthy and effective defender of our gun rights, and I know those same qualities will serve him well as governor."
During his time in the U.S. Senate, Sam Brownback has sponsored or co-sponsored many pieces of pro-gun legislation, including bills to: curb bogus lawsuits against gun manufacturers; force reform at the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives; and restore Second Amendment rights to residents of our nation's capital through both the D.C. Personal Protection Act and the Second Amendment Enforcement Act. Brownback has also voted for bills to: allow reciprocity between states for concealed carry; prevent the confiscation of firearms and ammunition from law-abiding citizens during a state of emergency; and allow law-abiding permit holders to carry in national parks and refuges.
Brownback has also demonstrated his commitment to protecting the Second Amendment by signing the pro-gun congressional amicus brief to the Supreme Court supporting our individual right to keep and bear arms in the Heller case. Additionally, Brownback signed the pro-gun congressional amicus brief supporting the Second Amendment's application to state and local governments in the McDonald case, which was recently settled by the Supreme Court.
Brownback's support for the Second Amendment has earned him an "A" rating and the endorsement from NRA-PVF.
"On November 2nd, I urge all Kansas NRA members, hunters and gun owners to vote Sam Brownback for Governor," Cox concluded.
