Fairfax, Va. – Today, on behalf of 5 million NRA members and tens of millions of supporters across the country, the National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF) announced its endorsement of Senator John Cornyn in the 2014 Texas Republican U.S. Senate primary election.
“John Cornyn is a consistent and passionate champion of our Second Amendment rights," said Chris Cox, chairman of NRA-PVF. "He has earned an A+ rating and
endorsement from NRA-PVF through his leadership in defending our Right to Keep
and Bear Arms.”
Throughout his career, Sen. Cornyn has consistently opposed all attempts to ban lawfully-owned firearms and magazines, and has stood strong against President Obama and New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s gun control agenda.
Earlier this year, Sen. Cornyn introduced the “Constitutional Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act of 2013,” which would ensure that law-abiding Americans with a valid concealed handgun license would be able to carry their concealed firearm in any other state that does not prohibit concealed carry.
In addition, he has been a strong leader in opposing the unconstitutional U.N. Arms Trade Treaty; cosponsoring and voting for “The Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act,” which prevents the American gun industry from being sued into bankruptcy through bogus lawsuits; and signing the pro-gun congressional “friend of the court” brief in the landmark Heller and McDonald cases.
“The choice is clear for law-abiding gun owners and sportsmen in the U.S. Senate republican primary election in Texas, and that choice is John Cornyn,” continued Cox. We urge all NRA members and like-minded supporters to vote John Cornyn for U.S. Senate on March 4.”
