Fairfax, Va. - The National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF) is endorsing incumbent Governor John Hoeven for re-election in North Dakota's gubernatorial race November 4.
"Governor Hoeven is a strong advocate for freedom and for defending the rights of North Dakota's gun owners, hunters and sportsmen," said NRA Executive Vice President, Wayne LaPierre. "As Governor, John has worked to preserve the self-defense rights of law-abiding residents and also to safeguard North Dakota's great hunting tradition for this generation and for future generations. John Hoeven is the right choice for governor in North Dakota."
"In North Dakota, hunters, sportsmen and gun owners appreciate leadership that respects the Second Amendment," said Chris W. Cox, Chairman of NRA-PVF. "Through the years, Governor Hoeven has proven his longstanding, steadfast commitment to preserving our Second Amendment freedoms."
During his tenure as governor, Hoeven signed legislation to prevent frivolous lawsuits that sought to drive firearm manufacturers out of business. He also signed Castle Doctrine legislation that allows crime victims to use deadly force in self-defense and a bill that provides $3.3 million in funds to increase hunter access and improve wildlife habitat. Governor Hoeven has also supported pro-hunting programs that have increased public access to more than one million acres of hunting land.
Because of his steadfast support for the Second Amendment as North Dakota's Governor, John Hoeven has earned an "A+" rating from NRA-PVF.
"This November 4th, I urge all NRA members and North Dakota gun owners to vote for John Hoeven," Cox concluded. "The people of North Dakota value their freedom, and John Hoeven is the best candidate to serve them."
