Fairfax, VA -- The National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF) is endorsing Attorney General Tom Corbett in the Pennsylvania gubernatorial race on November 2.
"Tom Corbett has earned the NRA-PVF endorsement for his unwavering pro-gun support throughout his political career," said Chris W. Cox, chairman of NRA-PVF. "His commitment to preserving our Second Amendment rights and hunting heritage makes Tom Corbett the clear choice for Pennsylvania gun owners."
Corbett is an NRA life member and as Pennsylvania's attorney general, he has consistently supported the Second Amendment rights of Pennsylvanians. Corbett has opposed efforts to weaken Pennsylvania's firearms preemption statute and actions by towns and cities to pass gun regulations in violation of that statute. He issued a letter stating that local governments do not have the legal authority to regulate firearms and ammunition, and during his term has tripled the number of right-to-carry reciprocity agreements with other states, greatly enhancing Pennsylvanians' right to carry a firearm for self protection. In addition, Corbett signed amicus briefs in both the Heller and McDonald cases, supporting our fundamental, individual right to keep and bear arms. Because of his consistent support for individual gun ownership rights, Tom Corbett has earned an "A" rating from the NRA-PVF.
"Voters in Pennsylvania value their freedom and they can count on Tom Corbett to fight for them," Cox continued. "Gun owners can count on Tom Corbett to continue to support their right to hunt and to keep and bear arms. We urge all Pennsylvania gun owners and sportsmen to vote Tom Corbett for Governor on November 2."
