NRA-PVF Endorses Denny Rehberg for U.S. House of Representatives in Montana’s At-Large Congressional District

Tuesday, September 28, 2010

Fairfax, Va. -- The National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF) is endorsing Denny Rehberg for re-election to the U.S. House of Representatives in Montana's At-Large Congressional District.

"The NRA-PVF is endorsing Denny Rehberg because he is a strong defender of the Second Amendment freedoms of law-abiding gun owners, hunters and sportsmen in Montana and across America," said Chris W. Cox, chairman of the NRA-PVF.

As a member of Congress, Rehberg voted for legislation to allow permit holders to carry and transport firearms for self-defense in national parks and wildlife refuges and cosponsored legislation to repeal the D.C. gun ban/registration statute and restore the right of self-defense to law-abiding residents of our nation's capital.  In addition, he voted for the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act that prevents attempts to bankrupt the American gun industry through bogus lawsuits.

Rehberg signed the pro-gun congressional amicus brief to the Supreme Court supporting our individual right to keep and bear arms in the Heller case and signed the pro-gun congressional amicus brief that the Second Amendment guarantees a fundamental right that protects all Americans in the McDonald case.  He also voted for legislation to prohibit gun confiscation from law-abiding Americans during states of emergency and cosponsored legislation to force much-needed reform at the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

Denny Rehberg's unwavering commitment to preserving our right to keep and bear arms has earned him an "A" rating and the endorsement of the NRA-PVF.

"On November 2nd, I urge all Montana NRA Members, hunters and gun owners to vote Denny Rehberg for Congress," Cox concluded.
