Fairfax, Va. – Voters in the Kentucky primary election have delivered a victory to Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell tonight.
"On behalf of our 5 million members, I'd like to congratulate NRA’s longtime friend and supporter, Sen. Mitch McConnell. We need Sen. McConnell in Washington to protect our Second Amendment freedoms,” said Chris W. Cox, chairman of the National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF).
McConnell earned an “A+” rating from the NRA. An "A+" rating is reserved for a legislator with not only an excellent voting record on all critical NRA issues, but who has also made a vigorous effort to promote and defend the Second Amendment.
The NRA mobilized members and pro-gun voters in Kentucky to help in Sen. McConnell’s primary race. Their efforts made a significant difference and helped win the day for the only candidate in this race with a proven record of supporting our Right to Keep and Bear Arms.
"We urge Kentucky gun owners to vote for Sen. McConnell this November. He will stand and fight against the Obama-Bloomberg gun control agenda," concluded Cox.
The National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund is responsible for political candidate ratings and endorsements. These are based on candidate voting records, public statements and responses to NRA-PVF questionnaires.
