Fairfax, Va. – On behalf of our five million members across the country, the National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF) is proud to endorse Sean Parnell for reelection as Governor of Alaska.
Based on his leadership on Second Amendment issues, Parnell has earned an “A+” rating from the NRA-PVF in the 2014 general election. An “A+” is the highest possible rating and is reserved for elected officials with an excellent public record on critical NRA issues who have also made a vigorous effort to promote and defend the Second Amendment.
“As Governor, Sean Parnell has made it a top priority to protect and promote the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding Alaskans,” said Chris W. Cox, chairman of the NRA-PVF. “He signed a bill into law legislation expanding the ability of law-abiding citizens to defend themselves in any place they have a legal right to be. Gov. Parnell is a strong defender of our Right to Keep and Bear Arms.
Parnell also signed a bill into law improving the rights of carry permit holders in Alaska and has long supported hunting as a valuable tool for wildlife management and conservation. Additionally, he rejects expanded licensing and registration schemes and so-called “universal” background checks, which require federal government approval for transferring firearms between life-long friends and family members.
“We can count on Sean Parnell to stand up for our constitutional freedoms in Alaska,” added Cox. “On behalf of the NRA’s five million members, I want to thank Sean for his steadfast support of the Second Amendment and urge all NRA members, gun owners and sportsmen in Alaska to vote Sean Parnell for Governor on November 4.”
Established in 1871, the National Rifle Association is America's oldest civil rights and sportsmen's group. More than five million members strong, NRA continues to uphold the Second Amendment and advocates enforcement of existing laws against violent offenders to reduce crime. The Association remains the nation's leader in firearm education and training for law-abiding gun owners, law enforcement and the armed services.
