Fairfax, Va. – On behalf of our five million members across the country, the National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF) is proud to endorse Matt Mead for reelection as Governor of Wyoming.
Based on his support of and commitment to the Second Amendment, Mead has earned an “A” rating from the NRA-PVF for the 2014 general election. An “A” rating is reserved for a pro-gun lawmaker who has supported the NRA’s position on issues of importance to gun owners.
“Governor Mead has made protecting the Second Amendment a top priority,” said Chris W. Cox, chairman of the NRA-PVF. “He signed into law ‘Permitless Carry’ legislation allowing law-abiding adults to carry a concealed firearm without first obtaining a government-issued permit or license. He also signed into law a bill to strengthen Wyoming’s self-defense statutes.”
Mead has a proven record supporting our individual right to Keep and Bear Arms. He believes hunting is a valuable tool for wildlife management and conservation. Additionally, he rejects expanded licensing and registration schemes and so-called “universal” background checks, which require federal government approval for transferring firearms between life-long friends and family members.
“We can count on Matt Mead to stand up for our constitutional freedoms in Wyoming,” added Cox. “On behalf of the NRA’s five million members, I want to thank Matt for his steadfast support of the Second Amendment and urge all NRA members, gun owners and sportsmen in Wyoming to vote Matt Mead for Governor on November 4.”
Established in 1871, the National Rifle Association is America's oldest civil rights and sportsmen's group.
