Fairfax, Va.— On behalf of our five million members across the country, the National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF) is pleased to endorse Richard Burr for the office of U.S. Senate in the North Carolina Republican primary.
Based on his leadership on Second Amendment issues, Richard Burr has earned an “A+” rating from the NRA-PVF in the 2016 election. An “A+” is the highest possible rating and is reserved for those with an excellent public record on critical NRA issues who have also made a vigorous effort to promote and defend the Second Amendment.

His leadership and consistent voting record in support of the Second Amendment has earned him an ‘A+’ rating from the NRA. As a North Carolinian and outdoorsman, Richard has always fought to preserve our Second Amendment freedoms and hunting heritage, and has stood strong against President Obama and former New York City billionaire Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s gun control agenda. I urge all NRA members, gun owners and sportsmen in North Carolina to vote Richard Burr for U.S. Senate in the March 15th Republican primary.”
Richard has a proven record of strongly supporting the individual right to Keep and Bear Arms. He has voted against the Obama/Bloomberg so-called “universal” background check system that could criminalize the private transfer of firearms which, according to the Justice Department, is only enforceable through a federal firearms registry. He also voted for Concealed Carry Reciprocity legislation, which would ensure that law-abiding Americans with the legal right to carry concealed would be able to carry their firearm for self-defense in any other state. Furthermore, he voted against anti-gun nominees Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan for the U.S. Supreme Court. Moreover, Richard believes hunting is a valuable tool for wildlife management, a positive use of natural resources, and an American tradition that teaches young people responsibility and respect for the outdoors.
