Fairfax, Va.— The National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF) today congratulated Lloyd Smucker for his win last night in the Republican Primary race for Pennsylvania’s 16th Congressional District. In the closing days of the hotly contested election, the NRA-PVF launched a six-figure digital and radio buy that was pivotal in securing Smucker’s victory. The NRA media buy was in addition to a district wide mail and phone campaign touting Smucker’s support of the Second Amendment and his commitment to fighting the gun-control agenda promoted by President Obama, Hillary Clinton, and former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg. Smucker won the Republican nomination with 56% of the vote.
“On behalf of our five million members across the country, the National Rifle Association is proud to congratulate Lloyd Smucker on his decisive victory,” said Chris Cox, executive director of NRA’s Institute for Legislative Action. “We can trust Lloyd to stand up to the gun-control agenda promoted by President Obama, Hillary Clinton, and former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg.”
