NRA Endorses Ken Paxton for Attorney General

Friday, September 7, 2018

FAIRFAX, Va. — Today, the National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF) announced its endorsement of Ken Paxton for reelection as Texas attorney general.

“Ken Paxton has been strongly committed to protecting constitutional rights in Texas,” said Chris W. Cox, chairman, NRA-PVF. “Paxton vigorously defended Texas' landmark campus carry law and worked to expand the rights of license to carry holders. He has been a champion for law-abiding gun owners."

Paxton earned an “A+” rating from the NRA-PVF. This is the highest possible rating a candidate can attain and is reserved only for those with outstanding records of leadership on important Second Amendment issues.

In addition to his record as attorney general, Paxton advanced Second Amendment rights during his time in the Texas legislature. Notably, he voted for NRA-supported Castle Doctrine legislation and bills protecting self-defense rights in employee parking lots.

“The men and women of the National Rifle Association thank Ken Paxton for his strong support of the Second Amendment and look forward to his reelection in November,” Cox concluded.

Established in 1871, the National Rifle Association is America's oldest civil rights and sportsmen's group. More than five million members strong, NRA continues to uphold the Second Amendment and advocates enforcement of existing laws against violent offenders to reduce crime. The Association remains the nation's leader in firearm education and training for law-abiding gun owners, law enforcement and the armed services.
