Fairfax, Va. – The National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF) is proud to endorse Idaho Governor C.L. "Butch" Otter for the May 20, 2014 Republican Gubernatorial Primary in Idaho. Otter has earned an "A" rating from the NRA-PVF for his leadership on Second Amendment issues in Idaho. An “A” is reserved for lawmakers who have supported NRA positions on key votes in elective office.
"Butch has always championed our right to Keep and Bear Arms and Idaho’s hunting heritage. On behalf of the NRA's five million members, we are proud to endorse him for the Republican nomination for Governor of Idaho," said Chris W. Cox, chairman of the NRA-PVF.
Otter supported and signed legislation into law that improved self-defense laws in the Gem State by enhancing the right of law-abiding Idahoans to defend themselves in more places and during state emergencies. Governor Otter supported and signed a bill that removed unwarranted federal regulations from firearms and ammunition manufactured and kept in Idaho. He has also signed into law provisions to provide extra time for Idaho men and women serving in the military overseas to renew their concealed weapons permits.
"Idaho's gun owners, hunters and sportsmen and women can rest assured that as long as Butch is their governor, their rights will be protected. We urge all NRA members and like-minded voters in Idaho to vote for Butch Otter in the Republican primary for governor on Tuesday, May 20, 2014," concluded Cox.
