Fairfax, Va. – Republican primary voters in Idaho's 2nd Congressional District delivered a hard fought victory to Representative Mike Simpson.
"On behalf of our 5 million members, I'd like to congratulate our longtime friend and supporter, Mike Simpson. His victory is a win for the Second Amendment,” said Chris W. Cox, chairman of the National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF).
Simpson earned an “A+” rating from the NRA. An "A+" rating is reserved for a legislator with not only an excellent voting record on all critical NRA issues, but who has also made a vigorous effort to promote and defend the Second Amendment.
The NRA mobilized members and pro-gun voters in Idaho’s Second Congressional District, making a significant difference in the outcome of this race.
"We look forward to having Mike return to Congress to stand and fight against the Obama-Bloomberg gun control agenda," concluded Cox. "He has been a stalwart defender of our Second Amendment freedoms and hunting heritage."
